would like to encourage EVERYONE to use this blog. This is for
the homeowners of Sierra Ridge to voice opinions, share experiences
and issues, both positive and negative, and to be used as a support
system. We take pride in our
community and our homes. We have rules and regulations that
should be followed so that we can all live in a comfortable and
esthetically pleasing environment. However, we don't need to
feel as though we live in a socialist community. We are the
members of this association and we need to have a voice in what
decisions are made and how they are made. We don't need our
words falling on deaf ears of a management company or our board of
directors.
Any management
company works for the association and its' board members. Not
the other way around. Board members need to represent their
members with fairness and honesty. I am personally starting to
wonder how fair and honest and what kind of representation I am
getting.
Are we guilty until
proven innocent on most issues and how often does this happen?
How many of you have ever won an appeal? How many of you have
ever been sued? How many of you have been fined for things
that are bogus and untrue? How many people feel harassed?
How many of you are tired of being subjected to their heavy handed
tactics? What has the HOA ever done for you and your hard earned money?
Is a voting board of
three people really a fair and precise representation for you as a
member of this association?
Our CC&R's are old
and are not up to date with today's society. They are nearly 20 years
old and were written by attorneys for the developer. They
don't live in Sierra Ridge. Our CC&R's need to be updated and possibly re-written entirely.
We have 2 years left to make changes to our existing CC&R's or
they continue as they are for
another 10 years.
Again, I encourage
participation. Our 1st amendment is there for a reason.
