After
attending the February HOA meeting there was discussion about
the gas lamps out in the complex and talk about converting them
to electric.
The president
of our board Dolores Thompson stated that Larry is a contractor
and does that type of work and maybe he would like to offer the
home owners his services.
Darren said that would be a great idea. Judy our treasure also
agreed and handed me a list of all the gas lamps out on Laura
Lane. I said that’s great but I asked if I may get a complete
list of all the addresses in the complex because maybe someone
that has a working lamp would like to convert their lamp as
well. I would like to mail the homeowners a flyer and not just
slap one on their door. The board agreed. I asked Kate the
management rep if she would e-mail me over a list of names and
addresses of our members. Kate stated I can give you addresses
but not names. Well that was fine with me even though I
disagreed because giving me the homeowners names is a matter of
public record and that if I went to the County Assessors office
I can get a complete list of names and addresses.
So I simply
said OK. Kate promised me she would e-mail me a list in the
next day or two. Well a week went by and I e-mail her for the
list and she stated she needed board approval. Ok what
part in the HOA meeting did she not listen to? The board said
yes at the meeting. I replied to her reminding her that the
board already agreed to give me the addresses.
Now this is
getting ridicules, this is her reply “The Board has decided that
they cannot indorse anyone as far as repair, etc to the gas
lamps – they’ve been approached by other owners so you will have
to get the addresses to go with the lot #’s from the Maricopa
County Assessors office” what a load of garbage!

The board
now apparently recanted their approval for the addresses to
which they have no authority to do. We are members; we have
a right to all names and addresses.

The board
is “indorsing” repairs, read it in the January news letter
under gas lamps. (if that’s not a contradiction in itself)

Kate is
blatantly refusing to e-mail me the addresses to which we
have a right to have as a member of the association. Another
great example: The Management Company works for us not that
other way around.

I e-mailed
our president of the board and to this day no reply either.
They make up
rules as they go, tell us one thing and say another, do as they
see fit and act as if they own the association. We are all
members of SIERRA RIDGE ASSOCIATION INC. we have voting power
and voting rights to over turn any CC&R and or Bylaw. It’s
written in the CC&R’s black and white! Please read it and
understand them. We do not need to put up with this wrongful
doing by any one or all board members or management company.
Yes,
I am a contractor and I don’t care if other contractors want to
offer the same type of services. This post is merely a meaning
in principle of what we have to deal with day in and day out as
homeowners. We need to stand up and take out the trash, its
garbage day! |
